Kidz in the Hall
Ivy League and Rapper are generally two words that you probably would never hear in the same sentence. Well, up and coming underground hip hop duo, Kidz in the Hall are out to change people’s perspectives on the definition of a hip hop artist. Hailing from the city of Chicago, the two formed their group in the year 2000, while attending the prestigious Ivy League Philadelphia-based school, The University of Pennsylvania. Naledge, the MC and Double-O, the producer, come together to deliver a sound that is eerily similar to legendary hip hop duo, Pete Rock and CL Smooth. With Kanye West outselling 50 cent and the rise of groups like Kidz in the Hall, one must ask; has gangster rap finally reached its zenith in the hip hop world? I wouldn’t be too quick to declare the death of gangster rap just yet, but check out this video from their debut album, School Was My Hustle, and decide for yourself.
